Jemma has had the privilege of being your Councillor since 2008, she grew up in Valley ward and has lived in the ward for most of her life. In that time she has campaigned for and won on many local issues. The borough wide 15 minute free parking scheme - which was first trialed in Valley Ward, the establishment of the South Chingford Community Library and the Civilian War Memorial in Albert Crescent. She championed the Chingford wide Public Space Protection Order and retention of the Police base on Chingford Hall Estate, recognising the impact of anti-Social Behaviour and the importance of community safety. In addition, Jemma lobbied for the refurbishment of Chase Lane Park and the outdoor gym in Arnett Square. Jemma supports and welcomes regeneration alongside sensitive redevelopment but is absolutely against overdevelopment and tower blocks. Jemma is passionate about social justice within our community and serves on the Neighbourhoods Scrutiny Committee with the local environment being a top priority. After two cancelled weddings in 2020, Jemma finally married her partner Paul in late 2021 in the ‘Old Church’.
